The National Association of Plateau State Students (NAPSS), NTA TV College Chapter, last Wednesday protested what was tagged a mass transfer of top five management staff from the college. The students complained that the institution needed staff with higher academic qualifications so as to get NUC full accreditation.
The protesting students stated the transfer was one-sided as most of the transferred staff were indigent of the state. They demanded the reversal of what they termed "a politically motivated transfer".
Top on the transfer list was the rector of the college Ms. Halima Bewell who told the media that she didn’t know what they students
were protesting, as she had already resumed work at her new place of
assignment. She also stated that she knew nothing about the college.
It would be recalled that the Ms.
Bewell was alleged to have been involved in a funds misappropriation scandal in
2015.

not know anything about the college.”

The new Rector Mr. Titus Mazhinyi addressed the protesting students, asking them to put
their grief in writting and channel it to the appropriate quarters as the
college has no part in appointments.
The peaceful protest saw to the blocking of the college entrance by the angry students of the NAPSS.
